New research data from Hitwise shows that Google is still leading the Australian online search market with a whopping total of more than 86 percent. This is down only 2.46 per cent from July 2009, when Google commanded 88 percent of all searches from Australian Internet users.
Microsoft's new Bing search engine has grabbed 4.3 per cent since its launch in June 2009, taking a small percentage from both Yahoo and Google to end the year at third place. Bing has performed much better in the US search market with steady gains ending 2009 with a 10.7 percent of U.S. search queries, according to the latest comScore qSearch numbers.

Meanwhile Google has announced that it's profit is up 17% in the 2009 fourth quarter at US$6.67 billion,while it's PPC program, AdWords average cost per click increased 5% from this time last year.
